"Why are you helping us?" Even after telling them I won't hurt them, fear was still written all over there faces.
"Because everyone deserves a chance to fight back. Even a couple of nerds and geeks." I said while nonchalantly taking a bite out of my apple, juice running down my chin.
They stared. Other than my munching and slurping, the room was silent.
I let out a sigh before throwing what's left of the apple back in my bag. "You know what, forget it. I'm trying to help you people but I see you don't need any. Good luck with senior year, my friends."
As I had the door handle in the clutch of my hand, I paused, hearing a fragile voice.
"Wait." I turned around and made contact with a pair of forest green eyes, hiding behind her long bangs.
"Can you really help us?"
