Claire Hansen is 20 years old and is now a parent. She adopted a small 3 year old from the orphanage she grew up in. She signs them up for a research study meant to help them pay for food and rent. She realizes after they've been picked that the study isn't anything like what she'd been expecting. Now she's with a group of people she doesn't know very well and she needs to get used to having abilities she never had before.
Will Claire and her team be able to help the city with their powers or will they fight back against the people who hurt them?

But things only get worse when strange things begin to happen to him and nightmares of a past he can't remember surface. Jay's world changes forever when he finds himself lifting objects with his mind and a very hot but seriously angry boy shows up calling him "one of us". Now the world seems a lot more dangerous and secrets about Jays origins are being revealed. Wrong dose
When twins Skylar and Jake were born, their scientist parents used them as an experiment. Each was injected with a dose of serum that would supposedly make them much stronger, smarter, simply better than other kids. But somebody added a chemical that changed the effects of the serum. As a result each twin got only half of the traits they were originally supposed to get. Skylar got the strength and speed while Jake got the brains. When they realized what had happened, the twins' parents immediately put them up for adoption, so neither one knew of the other. 12 years later Skylar is constantly failing all her classes, and Jake is getting bullied because he is so much weaker than other kids. But then Skylar's adoptive family decides to move across the country to find a new school for their daughter, which happens to be the school Jake goes to. They meet completely by accident.
