Nearly 800,000 children go missing each year. And this is only the reported number. Many more children disappear off the streets, or from broken homes where parents are incapable of caring or even noticing. You never imagine that one of the children you know would become one of those statistics. It could never happen to someone you know, this happens to other people. But it happens to 800,000 sets of parents who had these exact thoughts. This is the nightmare every mother and father dreads; an unimaginable heartbreak.
This is the story of Katie.
Katie is an 18 year old high school student and Hope is her 9 year old little neighbor. They have had a close sisterly bond since Hope was born. But one day, something terrible happens and Katie is never the same.
