A short story written for my writing class. Prompt: Place two or three characters in a confined situation: in a canoe, in a car, in a cabin, etc. Two or all of the characters should have relationships with some history. This story beginning should be told in the first person, from the point of view of one of the three characters. Try to keep exposition (background information/summary) at a minimum: stay in the moment (stay in scene) and resist the temptation to move the characters out of their confined situation: create a conflict of some kind between the characters. Don't worry about making this into a complete story; the idea is to get some trouble brewing and create conflict. Work in some dialogue.

I began this story in the summer of 2013; I don't remember what my inspiration for this story was, but I can remember shopping around ideas with friends of mine and then I thought of this, and they all thought it was a dark, and very sad idea. So, years later, I've decided to release it in its unabridged, unedited, copied straight from the file entirety, as one big thing. This is also the only instance where I wrote about a hetero couple. There's bound to be spelling and/or grammar mistakes, and for that I'm sorry.
