A short story written for my writing class. Prompt: Place two or three characters in a confined situation: in a canoe, in a car, in a cabin, etc. Two or all of the characters should have relationships with some history. This story beginning should be told in the first person, from the point of view of one of the three characters. Try to keep exposition (background information/summary) at a minimum: stay in the moment (stay in scene) and resist the temptation to move the characters out of their confined situation: create a conflict of some kind between the characters. Don't worry about making this into a complete story; the idea is to get some trouble brewing and create conflict. Work in some dialogue. All Rights Reserved
