Sixteen-year-old Rosalind Eastwood has always felt at home in the saddle, but her world is all dust, cowboys, and Western rodeos. Born and raised on a Texas ranch, Rosalind's life revolves around barrel racing, roping, and riding in the wide open spaces. But when her father moves back home to England for his business, and Rosalind is uprooted and sent to an elite English riding school in the countryside, specializing in three-day eventing: dressage, show jumping, and cross-country-disciplines she's never experienced.
At first, Rosalind is an outsider, struggling with the rigid formality of English riding, the snobbery of some classmates, and the demanding instructors. The graceful dressage movements are a far cry from the quick and rough world of Western riding. But as she befriends a fellow misfit mare, Kallista, Rose begins to see the beauty in the challenge of eventing.
As she trains, Rosalind learns that the balance and technique of dressage, the precision of show jumping, and the daring of cross-country riding require a level of discipline she's never known. Through setbacks and self-doubt, Rosalind must find a way to combine her Western grit with her newfound English skills and prove that she belongs in both worlds. Along the way, she discovers new friendships, the strength of her own resilience, and a deep connection to horses that transcends borders and riding styles.
