"Hello?" I called out. We walked to the kitchen, where we heard raspy (and I mean raspy) breaths. Before I could process anything, Cassie screamed and dropped to the floor with her hands on her eyes. I looked around to see what was the matter, when I saw it. Well I saw him. There was Abraham. He was lying there, eyes wide, chest barely moving. He was shaking, hard. But, that's not why Cass screamed bloody murder. There was a Knife launched into his chest. A huge gash ripped through the skin on his forehead. Blood was, well, everywhere. I tried to scream but my vocal cords couldn't muster a sound. "Cassie, call 911," I forced out. "Wha-" she muttered, pulling her head up from the pool of tears. "I said call 911!" She sat there, and stared at me. "OH MY GOD CASSIE! CALL 911!!" I screamed at her. Nodding, my sister pulled out her phone and, with shaking hands, dialed. Before she could press the green call button, Abe gasped loudly. "Girls," he croaked, and grabbed my hand, "Find the book." "Wha- what book?" I asked. My shivers had even affected my vocal cords. "In the attic. Find it. Be-be-before..." "Before what?" my sister asked, her tremor far worse than mine. "Her!" his eyes widened, and his grip on me tightened. A mysterious bang was heard from the other room.

[THIS IS A REWRITTEN VERSION OF THE OG] *** WARNING: Contains extremely triggering and mature content in almost every single chapter in this book, read at your own discretion. *** "That's not a fair deal." She whispered, more to herself than to me. "I know." "Sleep over but with no sex?" "No sex." I confirmed. She pursed her lips together and clenched her hands on the sides of the cabinet. Her eyes flitted over to the remains of two lines of ket. There was still a dusting of powder on the side. "Fine." One word. It was a miracle. I was certain she'd say no, but I'd wanted to try anyway. "No one can know." She reaffirmed. But as soon as those words were out she scraped the remaining powder onto her finger pads and snorted it. *** Cassie Moore is a walking mystery, but the ghosts of her childhood are neither glamorous nor intriguing. She is broken, and the perpetrator stays hidden in plain sight, taunting her with her very existence everyday at school. And one day, it all comes to a climax and her entire world shifts. This is a beautiful romance between two people who love each other more and more every day that goes by. Two people who better each other, a boy who sets a girl free. This is a journey between a girl and her emotions that are continually working against her. This is a tale of how two misfortunate people grow out and with each other in adversity.
