when chopper innocently brought up a genuine question, " what are we gonna do after luffy becomes the pirate king", during their victory celebration against the defeat of kaido in the lawn of deck of The Thousand Sunny, it lead to another question... "who's gonna be luffy's pirate queen". This one question throws luffy and nami into a series of confusion, self-doubt and realization. Will luffy be able to understand this natural aspect of human nature ( i.e love) and his feelings for nami? Will nami be able to rise above her self-doubts and become luffy's queen? As they navigate their feelings, will they choose to maintain the comfort and warmth of friendship or will they take a chance at love?
