Balerion, the valyrian god of death, decides he will not allow the house of the dragon to end in such a distasteful manner after the death of Daenerys Stormborn and the exile of Jon Snow. He returns to where the downfall began in 105 AC, one week before Queen Aemma dies in childbirth, to change time itself.
    
    It is not a difficult task for a god. If he fails, he can just do it again.
