Lira has lived her entire life as an outcast in the palace, under the cruel thumb of her stepmother, Queen Isolde, who rules the kingdom with an iron fist. Raised as an orphaned noble, Lira was told that her parents were mere servants who died when she was young. She has been repeatedly told that she has no power or potential. Her stepmother constantly belittles her, while her stepsister, Anya, delights in tormenting her at every opportunity.

What Lira doesn't know is that she's the true heir to the throne-her real parents were the beloved king and queen, murdered by Isolde, their treacherous servant, who has claimed the crown for herself. To ensure Lira never threatens her reign, Isolde has kept her true identity hidden and has suppressed Lira's latent magical abilities, which would make her an unstoppable force.

As Lira grows older, strange things begin to happen around her-faint whispers in the wind, flickering lights, and moments where time seems to stop. When a mysterious stranger arrives in the kingdom with knowledge of her past, Lira's world begins to unravel. Slowly, she starts to uncover the truth about her heritage, her powers, and the dark secret that could change the fate of the kingdom.

But as she inches closer to discovering the truth, Isolde tightens her grip on the throne, sending her loyal followers to silence Lira forever. With her magic awakening and enemies closing in, Lira must decide whether to fight for her rightful place as queen-or let the darkness consume her before she ever has a chance to reclaim the crown.

Her life is down in the dangerous Sparkstone mines, slaving away for a few coins that her stepmother and stepsister promptly steal. With life a living hell, she has barely enough energy to care for the injured animals she tends in secret, much less a party for the royal family that cares so little for her and the people like her. It isn't until a mysterious man appears out of the shadows, claiming to be one of the long-lost faeries and offering her a chance at freedom, that she begins to see hope. In exchange for enough money to free herself from her family, the faerie asks only for one thing in return-- that Cole attends the ball in order to get close enough to the prince to assassinate him and bring an end to the corrupted royal line. With her mission clear, Cole enters the world of the palace to learn about the prince and find a way into his ball. But dark secrets, violent plots, a strange sense that perhaps the prince isn't as bad as the faerie makes him seem, and a life-changing discovery about her past, all conspire to make Cole's shot at freedom messy and difficult. She must find the strength to get close to the prince, or else the mysterious faerie will send her back to the mines and her dreadful family. Once the clock strikes midnight... she must fulfill her end of the bargain. Once the clock strikes midnight... her hands must be red with the prince's blood.

Gifted with extraordinary powers over the Earth, Mind, and possibly more, Liora can manipulate the very ground beneath her feet and influence the thoughts of those around her. Though she has honed her abilities to maintain peace and avoid chaos, whispers of her powers have cast a shadow of fear over the kingdom, branding her gifts as dangerous and fearsome. When news of her powers escapes the palace walls, Liora's tranquil existence shatters. She longs to help her people, but the very ones she wishes to assist refuse to see beyond their fear. In secret, she begins to practice her abilities with the guidance of Rowen and her brother, driven by a desire to master her gifts and prove her worth. Yet, when her training leads to unintended consequences, she finds herself forbidden from practicing. However, when the war finally erupts, Liora is determined to do everything within her power to protect her home. The chaos and destruction that engulf Everglen ignite a fire within her, compelling her to confront her fears and embrace her abilities. No longer content to hide in the shadows, she steps forward with newfound resolve, channeling her powers to defend the kingdom she loves.

Born into the prestigious and feared House of Black, Cassiopeia Walburga Black is not just the eldest daughter of Walburga and Orion-she is their first heir. From the moment of her birth, Cassiopeia is trapped under the crushing weight of her family's dark legacy, forced to embody the pure-blood ideals of an ancient, unforgiving lineage. Within the cold, shadowed halls of Grimmauld Place, her childhood is anything but innocent. Taught advanced magic beyond her years and molded by her father's obsession with dark magic, Cassiopeia grows up in an environment that offers neither warmth nor love. Her parents, publicly poised and superior, are privately cruel and demanding, shaping her into a tool for the Black family's ambitions. While other children dream of freedom, Cassiopeia's world is one of strict obedience, wandless magic drills, and relentless expectations. As her parents' cold hands guide her every step, Cassiopeia begins to realize that her greatest battle may not be against the darkness of the magical world-but against the darkness that has taken root within her own home. A tale of trauma, power, and survival, this story delves into the shadowed life of a child born into a family where love is a luxury, and power is everything. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marauders era Being updated regularly First book in the duology (I do not own any Harry Potter original characters or plots. "I'm sure most of us have dreamed of our happily ever afters. When we were young, we fantasized about living in a Cinderella's castle or battling dragons to save the damsel in distress. There are even some of us who have held onto this fantasy even as we've gotten older. Like me for example. I've dreamed of finding my prince charming and living happily ever after. It's just my luck that my "happily ever after" is in the future of a psychopath." Mallory Ryders is definitely known as a dreamer. A believer in magic and happy endings where good guys and love triumph all. That's exactly what she gets when she's transported to a different universe. But things aren't as she dreams when she crosses paths with the sadistic tyrant of the land, who is smitten with her.
