"When the heart gets too heavy with pain, people don't cry. They become silent. Completely silent."

Katsuki Bakugou was taught to bottle every little feeling that would label him as weak. In a small town in 1990's Japan, this boy had created the worst version of himself, causing him to be haunted by his past actions everyday by the belief of what he thought was just one insignificant boy- Izuku Midoriya. After returning to the school his former bully once ran, Izuku returns with one goal; to feel anything but misery. The two boys found one way to communicate without awkwardness- writing letters. Slowly, they begin to speak and rebuild the fragile remains of their once-broken bond-two boys healing from a world of hurt, one scarred by home, the other by his own mind.

Ashes and Evergreen | DekuBaku

14 parts Complete

After the war, the dust doesn't settle - it clings. Class 1-A survived, but not without fractures. Not all scars are visible. Not all pieces find their way back. And two of its strongest - Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugou - seem to be drifting further from the people they were... and from each other. Izuku is taller now. Stronger. His presence cuts through a room. But his smile doesn't reach his eyes, and his warmth is distant - like he left part of himself behind in the rubble. He carries everything. Always has. But no one can reach him anymore, not really. And Katsuki? He burned too bright for too long. His confidence is hollow now, more armor than belief. He hides behind quiet quips, late-night walks, and an ever-present ache in his chest. The once ferocious boy is flickering out - the guilt and grief have stolen his roar. But in the spaces between broken routines, heavy silences, and cautious glances... something remains. A thread. Fragile. Real. Maybe they can find each other again. Maybe they can become someone new. Together. Or maybe, this is the end.
