Desperate to be with her lover, 18-year-old Victoria Benton takes off in the middle of the night to reunite with her boyfriend.

Little did she know that a single stop would cost her life.

"Hey," I snap out of my daydream and pay attention to Cody. "You married?"

I frown before I realize what he is referring to the ring on my finger. "Oh, not yet. I only got engaged a few days ago."

"So you turn eighteen and already got a whole man waiting to make you his?" He laughed.

For some reason I didn't like that he said that. What is he even implying?

I bet he doesn't have a clue himself.

"I'm leaving then, I hope you can leave and go with your lover." Cody saluted me goodbye before shutting the door.

He's got one thing right: I am going to leave and be with the love of my life. Now, forever, for richer and for poorer. Until death do us part... or something worse happens and we are forced to never see each other again.

Wren's life is about to change forever - but not how she expects it to. Kidnapped on her wedding day, she finds herself trapped in a mountain cave, unable to return home with no company outside of the inhuman creature that took her. *** "Wait, Wren! Not that way!" It was darker here and panic limited her vision, but she could see it reaching for her; its wings like two huge looming shadows behind it. "Get away! Don't touch me! No, let me go!" She shrieked. She screamed in earnest as a hand took hold of her arm, and then even more when her own hand reached for something to hang onto and grasped at empty air. She had been scrambling towards a sudden drop! The hands hauled her back, but she still struggled. She didn't want to look at it, and she still wasn't sure she wouldn't rather take her chances with the open air instead. "Stop it, I'm not going to hurt you! You'll hit your head on the rock or something. Wren, please!" It knew her name. Somehow it knew her. She was going to die! "Let me go! Stop touching me!" She was sitting on the rocky floor now with her back against an uneven wall, and it was trying to pin her down and hold her still. She kept her eyes turned away and struggled helplessly, but it was no use. It was strong like a human man too, and she couldn't keep it off of her. The wings had moved until they curved around them both and shut out a lot of the light. Its face was so near hers that she could feel its breath brushing against her skin. "Please just look at me for a second. Just look. I'm not going to hurt you." One of the hands grabbed her chin and forced her head to turn, and then she was looking straight into a pair of dark brown eyes. It had a human face too. She had been expecting something monstrous or ghastly, and the surprise made her falter for a moment. He looked young, with a bad haircut and an earnest expression on his face. "I'll let go of you, okay? Just don't lunge around like that anymore, you'll get hurt." He whispered.

⚠️ MATURE⚠️ This story contains strong use of language and mature scenes. If you are offended easily do not read. •.• I snuggled into the comfortable warmth of the fluffy pillow as I was eager to go back to sleep. The fan lullabied me into a hazy state. Suddenly, a heavy weight landed on my waist, pulling me from the tired daze. I leaned up in shock as my hands flung forward defensively to push whoever was on me off. With a strong force, my shoulders were shoved backwards and into the mattress. Grunts of struggle filled the room as we fought each other. The offender grabbed my wrists and held them firmly above my head with one strong hand. Sobs of terror escaped from my chest as a thumb caressed my cheek to wipe away the spilled tears. "P-please let go of me," I begged, trembling. "You are so beautiful." A man's voice spoke, his large hand leaving my face and traveling down my body to squeeze my pelvic region. "Stop." I screeched, my demand ricocheting between the four bedroom walls. The man growled darkly. "If you scream again, I will kill you." I nodded keenly in response to show that I would not challenge his threat. His hand slowly freed my mouth, testing if I would disobey him. He reached into his pocket. A knife, zip tie, and a rag were all revealed. The view made me realize that this could be my last chance to get help. If I did not call out right now, he would take me. I would not make it out alive either way. I let out a bloodcurdling scream loud enough to wake up the whole neighborhood.

"You piece of shit!" I sobbed, pulling on the chain connecting my leg to the bedpost. "You lied to me, Enzo...I trusted you!" Enzo took a few steps closer to me, causing me to back away on reflex, "Don't come any closer...or I swear I'll..." "You'll what, Fiore?" Enzo spoke, his eyes darkening with uncontrollable desire. My back hit the wall behind me, forcing me to halt in my movements, Enzo, still inching towards me. "I asked you a question, I expect a response." I looked around the room, scanning my environment before returning my gaze to his. "I'll kill myself..." I spoke, my words were empty and held no value. I could only hope he didn't catch my bluff. Enzo took two more steps, closing the distance between us. He grabbed my chin forcing me to look into his ice cold gaze. We stood like that for a minute before he released my chin from his grip and scoffed, "You'll kill yourself?" I nodded. Enzo reached into his pocket and pulled out a pocket knife, he harshly grabbed my hands and placed it in my palm. Taking a few steps back he spoke, "Do it then." My eyes widened as my hands started to uncontrollably shake, "Do what?" I managed to mutter out. "Kill yourself, I'm making it easy for you." Tears started streaming from my eyes, "I..." I attempted to speak but a lump in my throat prevented me from doing so. My grip on the knife loosened and it fell onto the floor. Enzo grabbed the knife and placed it back into his pocket. He caressed my cheek with his thumb, gently wiping away my tears. "It wasn't supposed to be like this, Fiore. Not yet atleast." "But I can't bear to let you go."
