Cathal's head shot up, a noise that didn't belong in his den had woken him from his slumber. Confusion and disorientation making him cranky. How could anything or anyone find his hidden home, much less get past him and make it to his treasure? And who would dare!? He turned to look at the human on top of his favorite gold pile. Cathal didn't kill unless defending his life but he would not allow a thief to take what was his. The girl was frozen in place, giving him a chance to see the dragon charm resting on her collar. So the wizard hadn't been lying; the charm worked. The girl was not a trespasser so Cathal settled back down to finish his nap.
