For years, eclypse has been an....unusual person. She is the first dark type gym leader in the kanto region, taking over for blane, who retired. But when she begins doing things she has never done before like say for example successfully use the "night slash" attack and get severely hurt by a mishap involving a moonblast a fellow gym leader calls a few things into question as eclypse learns things she never even imagined she would.
