She could taste her blood, tangy metallic flavour clear on her tongue, her vision struggled to keep focus. All she could make out was the burning building perched precariously on the cliff, flames licking the sky. She couldn't move, her body wouldn't respond, the pain was almost too much to bear. But she had to run-she had to survive. 

The winter storm bit at her skin, unrelenting, as if eager to consume her, bury her, keep her there forever. She had no desire left but to let it. 
The unforgiving bitter cold, promised to swallow her whole, and for a fleeting moment, she thought maybe she'll let it this time.


Ana Rosalia Valdez was one of the most gifted teenagers you could ever meet, she wasn't a genius like Tony Stark, or of superior strength like Steve Rodgers, but she had one God given talent which had supported her all her life - Survival.
