THE END [[#Wattys2020]] by dan-martin
15 parts Complete
Full of growing suspense and surprise turns, "The End," set in the very near future, follows the winding and overlapping paths of several compelling characters as they're forced to navigate independent, yet inter-winding paths through the turbulent waters of a post-apocalyptic planet. These men, women and children struggle to make impossible decisions and, for some, unthinkable autocracies, in the name of self-preservation. At the moment of the event, time abruptly stops, and then slowly begins again, as our heroes are and heroines are jolted out of their mundane lives and sent reeling. "When confronted with the impossible and the unbelievable, the most viable options are often the most irrational." --Greta Thunberg, May 2027 This book, although 'technically' a work of fiction, is unique because the author has actually been on-site and personally witnessed almost all of the events and narratives described in it. Dan Martin has seen some of the planet's worst natural and man-made catastrophic events--war, devastating earthquakes, government and economic collapse, pandemics, looting, killing and kidnapping. He has personally been immersed in the chaos, destruction and collapse of cities and nations, and is able to convey those raw, often gritty, surreal experiences through the novel's lead characters. As the reader follows the unfolding drama, the characters assume real-life behaviors, actions and reactions with which the reader can relate and identify. You may even share some of the same tragic experiences. It is an inconceivable perspective and awareness that can only be imprinted on an individual who has actually experienced and been present during and immediately after such a horrific, life-changing event--something other post-apocalyptic authors are completely oblivious to and can only imagine.

"ꜱᴜꜰꜰᴇʀɪɴɢ ɪɴ ꜱɪʟᴇɴᴄᴇ ɪꜱ ʙᴇᴛᴛᴇʀ ᴛʜᴀɴ ꜱᴜꜰꜰᴇʀɪɴɢ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʏᴏᴜ." You never believed in things like gods. To you, they were simply things less educated people used to explain things you already knew. That was until... the incident. You were walking home at night after a run to Hot Topic with one of your friends when something unexpected happened on the crosswalk. To others, it looked like you stumbling out of the way of a car being driven by someone obviously intoxicated. But you saw something else. Someone else. A man who wasn't there before pulling you onto the other side of the road as you froze like a deer in headlights. Days after, you couldn't take your mind off that incident. Something about that stranger seemed.. off. Not entirely human. You never got a good look at him to determine what was so wrong, and you thought you'd never get the chance to. That was until he came back. Hello friends! Welcome to my second greek mythology fan fiction! Updates might be slower with this one than my other story, Divinity, but I wanted to start another project before I lost the passion I had behind this idea. Basically, we have an emo Y/N who found a new meaning and joy in life after almost dying, and a chaos deity who saved her life because he was bored. Y/N doesn't really have a specific style, she kind of just dresses alternative in general. So don't be surprised if she's dressing grunge one chapter and mall goth the next. I use emo as an umbrella term a lot of the times, so thats what I mean when I say it.

Nobody expects the Sasquatch Intervention! A Vedic text tells of ancient gods who cast a shadow upon the Earth, shielding humanity from an angry sun. Or, as history books will soon report: when Sol last went micro-nova, Mercury, Venus, and the Anye migration fleet were positioned in eclipse, the latter on purpose. Earth was scorched - but not destroyed. The event is cyclical, coming around again, and fortunately, Vidura's furry pilgrims are still living in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the fleet is in mothballs. The planets will not be lining up to help. Two million light years away on the planet of the Unseen, a potentially hostile race of bird-folk have demonstrated the ability to get here from there. The natives will have to dig in, hands on Anye technology, with President of the United States Carmen Benequista leading Earth's ruling elite into an age of service to humanity. It's a dicey proposition, at best. Meanwhile, Carmen - sixty, widowed - is in late-life crisis. She has a suitor; human, Filipino/American, 15 years younger, recently associated with the Anye Space Mafia. Good for her, maybe. Entering stage left, the elevated maroli. Labor appliances of the nightmare variety. Egg-shaped grav-lift chassis. Bio-engineered tentacles strong enough to pull your arms off. Self-aware not by design - possessed perhaps by spirits of the dead. And who knows what the maroli are up to? Something wholesome, we hope. Will Earth be saved, only to perish in a war between cosmic rivals? Has the President found true love? Is it rude to attend a party with fighting drones in tow? Action, intrigue, space soap opera - A genre-bending tale of life, love, and uncertain outcomes. ᶲᶲᶲᶲᶲᶲᶲᶲ Click on my website URL, listed on the Wattpad author's profile, for more information.

On December 21, 2012, without warning, the Solar System suddenly got transported into another world. Humanity quickly noticed the change in the skies and in the cosmos. As panic spread, all human devices were disrupted, gadgets shut down and telecommunications went static. A mysterious woman then appeared on every screen, claiming to be a goddess. It was revealed that she was the one who summoned the Solar System, explaining that she had done it for a reason that she's been searching for life beyond her cosmos for eons. She then wishes to learn more about humanity's way of life by sending her creations to Earth. What will come of humanity after this event? How will they cope with such an unprecedented phenomenon unlike anything in Earth's history, especially that it occurred right on the date that humanity feared the most: 21st of December, 2012, the date that many feared to be the end of the world? 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘴𝘮𝘰𝘴: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘯, also known as "𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗜𝘀𝗲𝗸𝗮𝗶", is a tale of our Solar System being summoned to another world. It examines how not only humanity, but also the otherworlders, and even the lesser gods adapt to this new reality. It explores themes of astronomy, philosophy, science, geopolitics, sociology, psychology, history, culture, economics, ethics, theology, and civilization convergence. It is not just an isekai, but it might also be a thought-provoking journey beyond human existence and reality. ----- DISCLAIMER: Under heavy editing, frequent revisions, late uploads/slow updates, and inconsistent publishing.
