The Night's Daughter ~ HoO x OC

Darkness.

That's all she knows. That's all she was surrounded by, anyway. Just pitch, black, darkness.

She couldn't open her eyes or her mouth. She couldn't move, or yell out, "HEY! I'M STUCK!"

All she could do, was hear.

So that's what she did. She listened. She listened to the sounds of ice forming and melting. She listened to hail clinking against glass (or was that more ice?) roofs. She listened to people talk.

She listened for what she thought was years. It was not. It was centuries.

And she heard everything, for 4 centuries.

And one day, she could not listen anymore. Now, she could see, and speak, and move her body around freely.

And she moved, walked, ran, skipped. She embasked in her final freedom.

She used her freedom, to find her rescuers, and repay the debt she owed them for saving her.
