After swallowing one of Auahitūroa's (God of Comets) stars by accident, Tangaroa (God of the Sea) gives his heart to the Ocean so it will be protected from Auahitūroa's wrath. Somehow (but not really a mystery) Moana comes across the heart on the shores of Motunui. It unfortunately comes with a few consequences, including a new relationship with the water, conscious tattoos which come from nowhere and Moana's new status as a Demigoddess of the Great Ocean, and half-daughter of Tangaroa. What could possibly go wrong?
