Emma’s best friend, Ali has just gotten engaged leaving Emma as their only friend who is still single. And of course the Best Man just has to be her ex, the man who chose his job over her and hasn’t even picked up the phone to say sorry. Ali has already made her promise to not maim him because then it would ruin her pictures. But, that doesn’t mean she has to talk to him and if she happens to accidentally push him off the roof of the hotel he’s staying in no one has to know, right? 

      Luckily, she hasn’t been left completely alone. She has Jason, her friend the bartender, who just happens to look like a Greek god and her books. There’s a new author in particular who is helping her deal with the loss. Emma is in love with all of his books and is convinced that if she can meet him she will find her perfect man. 
Let’s face it books have always been her friends. They are so much better than people. She hates being surrounded by people. That’s probably why she chose the job she has. Working as head baker in the bakery/ café she gets to spend a lot of time alone. But for once Emma doesn’t want to be alone. The books are bringing her the hope of getting her own happily ever after. Will it be with him, the mysterious man, or will she give Nathaniel another shot? Read Emma’s Sweet Life to find out.
