The Bonds That Lie

Seraphina Bellane and Malakai Dominique are on two different sides of a cold war passed down from generations. But when the time comes for them to fight together against the actual threat, can they put their differences aside for the good of their people? Or will their families' hatred for each other overrule their destinies?

When Seraphina, a 32 year-old who did not think she could break out of her monotonous life, is finally called for her training against the demons, she jumps at the chance to fulfill her life-long destiny. But imagine her surprise when the man she has been raised to despise is not just in her troop, but is to be her battle-tether. A break from the monotonous routine indeed.

34 year-old Malakai has known two things his entire life: Hatred for the Bellane family, and Respect for the family patriarch: his Grand-Father. When he gets called to fight against the demons, and finds out that his battle-tether is his "mortal enemy", Seraphina Bellane, he is conflicted, as his morals coincide. But when his grand-father commands him to go, he has no choice but to follow. All he knows is that there is every chance that this could end explosively.
