Angelina Donovan never received the opportunity to experience a normal childhood. Her father left when she was five, leaving her mother to raise three children alone. Well, not really, as her mother was very absent while growing up, leaving Angelina to take care of her two younger siblings, all-whilst trying to maintain a good GPA to ensure she got into her top choice of Universities.

Thankfully, her hard work paid off and, when her siblings were old enough to take care of themselves, Angelina moved away to attend medical school a few hours away, deciding for once to worry about herself.

Five years went by and she had graduated from school, working on completing her second year of residency at her local hospital. She was happy; gaining new friends, learning a few interesting things, and even managed to get herself her first boyfriend. She never envisioned herself leaving, until one evening after she had returned home from work, she received a devastating phone call, causing Angelina to immediately start packing and return home to Mystic Falls.
