Laken Hansley, a 17 year old girl who thinks love is a waste of time. She watches as her best friend Aubrey, falls in love with a jock named Jack. She hated Jack with a passion, mainly because he was actually good to Aubrey. But he also took time away from the two, losing Aubrey to some boy was Laken's biggest fear, her and Aubrey have been friends for years.
Aubrey always asks Laken to find a boyfriend, but Laken always said no. She didn't see the point in dating if it only leads to heart break.
Harvey Lennox, a 18 year old boy who is new to the small town of Lakeside. He wanted a fresh start away from the past that follows behind him, so he got a small one bedroom apartment and signed up for school.
Laken and Harvey meet on the second day of school, Aubrey introduced the two which Laken wasn't happy about. The two didn't get along, Harvey became friends with Jack so he was always sitting at their table; causing countless arguments between Harvey and Laken.
What the two didn't realize was, they actually enjoyed each others company. They went to a party and Laken stayed by Harvey's side as she felt safe next to him, the two had a good conversation that night with no argument. It scared Laken with how she was feeling towards Harvey, it scared Harvey with how he was feeling towards Laken.
The two got closer as time went on, Harvey began to sneak into Lakens room through her window just to hang out with her. The amount of tension and temptation between the two was almost unbearable.
One night Harvey climbs through Lakens window and sees her crying with her legs up to her chest, he ran to her immediately as if he was obligated to be there for her. Laken told him that she had a fight with her dad, fighting with her dad was a daily thing. But this time it was a bad fight, Harvey listened to Laken as she ranted. He held her close to him which made Laken feel safe, that night Harvey kissed Laken. The two had no clue, what they had just started inside them

Well, this is a journal, so you found it. Can I say Happy reading into my life? The life of a kid who hates love. This is a love story, darling. Well, I don't know about you but I hate school, I have been told it is a place to mingle with good souls and create moments to cherish and to get yourself educated. It is a place for youth to strive and bloom into respected beings. It is a sanctuary of sanity. If you ask me, school is the definition of drama as it is the birthplace of drama. Youth is the ambassador of chaos, you can either make the chaos good or bad, worth the pleasure or the very cause of death. Life is too short to live with a sane mind, there is no harm in breaking rules to live life the way you want as long as it makes you good. As with any classical young adult romance, this book is filled with horny, hormone imbalance, chemical imbalances, not loved and very well-loved, mature(childish), caring(cruel ) teenagers. All of this drama only started because of one guy, Mark Austin Jawa, the golden boy of Winter Abyss High School. Maybe Mark had nothing to do at all.It was just about 4 kids learning to live Did I forget to say, there are inhuman beings as well in this story?
