Ava Darius's father, Luke Darius, had arranged her marriage to Acel Evan, the eldest son of Brent Evan, a powerful and influential figure in Country A. Acel, though a wealthy bachelor, was notorious for his cold and ruthless nature, and whispers about his psychopathic tendencies were well-known.
