Yetişkin
for all the dark romance girlies

In the heart of the haveli, shadows danced and whispered secrets only the walls could hear. The air hung heavy with anticipation, as if the very fabric of time held its breath for the return of one who once brought darkness.
Faris, a name cloaked in both nostalgia and dread, lingered in the corners of memories, like an unwelcome specter. For Maheen, the echoes of childhood laughter twisted into haunting reminders, a sinister lullaby that curled around her thoughts. The once vibrant halls now felt like a labyrinth, where every turn could lead to confrontation or escape.
The evening sky, painted in hues of crimson and indigo, mirrored the turmoil brewing within her. It was a night for secrets, a night for truths unspoken, where the familiar warmth of family masked the cold reality of hidden betrayals. As the candles flickered, their light danced on the faces of those who celebrated, oblivious to the storm on the horizon.
In this game of power and shadows, Maheen's heart raced-not just with fear, but with the knowledge that the return of her cousin could unravel the delicate threads of her life.
With each moment drawing closer, she clung to the hope that beneath the façade of festivities lay the promise of freedom, a chance to break away from the grip of the past. Yet, the question lingered: could she escape the chains forged in childhood, or would they pull her back into the darkness she fought so hard to forget?

Maheen and Hasan met when they were kids- young, naïve, and hopeful about the world. Just when their story begins, they're separated by tragedy and pain. But as fate would have it, they were meant to meet again. Years later, now all grown up, they meet again suddenly at work and old feelings resurface. Maheen is an open book. She says what she feels and wears her heart on her sleeve. She's always laughing, the personification of a bright sunny day. In her mind, she's the main character of her own Bollywood movie. She doesn't care what anyone has to say about her. She's already heard the worst. Hasan is her complete opposite. He's always been quiet and shy, and has only become more serious and business-like as the years go on. He may have a hard exterior, but Maheen's re-entry in his life is starting to remind him of who he once was. Maheen never misses an opportunity to make Hasan flustered, with her constant teasing and playful pestering. Hasan- the forever gentlemen- does not give in to her innocent flirting and keeps everything very professional. Or at least he tries very hard to. Between the secret glances over cubicles, and passing jokes after staff meetings, maybe their friendship was once again turning into something more. "...Don't show that you cared about my happiness, when you actually didn't. I doubt if you ever truly did care." I whispered the last part menacingly at him, clenching my jaw as my eyes filled with tears. The way his face hardened and his eyes dilated, I assumed he heard me as a muscle in his jaw ticked. I lowered my pointing finger and wiped my tears furiously from the back of my hand, looking away. "It's good that you got to know about everything before this marriage facade got out of our hands. Now, you'll realize that you never had any feelings for me and it was just an infatuation." He scoffed, looking away. His adam's apple bobbed as his veins popped out lividly. "Don't you dare insult my love, Wali! My love for you was so pure. You know what? You don't even deserve it." I told him, swallowing the lump in my throat. My voice came out harsh as my breath grew thin and ragged. I tried to control myself, reminding there were people in this house. Ya Allah, who was this man standing in front of me? ----- Meet Wali Rehman Khan and Aleyha Shaikh. They both grew up together, they were cousins by fate but best friends by choice. Wali had always been overprotective of her and deeply cares for her, fulfilling her every demand. She thought he loves her the way she loves him but how can he love when he hates even the thought of love? She had believed he would always be there for her but how wrong she was! He left and was back after five painful years. She no longer was the same teenager he last saw or knew, she had changed and changed for good. But still, around him, she didn't know how to feel. She tried but her heart was no longer in her control and she paid a heavy cost due to that. Was the payment worth it? Was it all along Allah's plan? -------------

~ A story as a Poetry itself ~ MURAAD SIDDIQUI "He never touched the flame. He simply waited for it to burn its way to him." Born into power, raised in shadows, Muraad Siddiqui was promised a bride before he could even tie his shoelaces - a girl he'd never met, but whose name sounded like poetry: Siya. While the world handed him legacy, influence, and control, he built a life around the only thing he never chose but always wanted. By the time she stepped into his haveli, still a child in uniform, he had already crafted a world where she was the centre. But love like his is not tender. It's sharp. Unvoiced. Unholy. Because how do you love someone who sees you as a stranger, when you've lived every breath for them? He stays close-but silent. Present-but untouchable. Not because he can't confess. But because what he feels could undo her entire world. SIYA RAGHUVANSHI "She was signed away with a pen. And now she lives in a palace she never asked for, but still always dreamed of-with a man whose eyes know too much." All Siya wanted was to study literature, hide behind her books, and lose herself in fictional darkness. But instead, she was unknowingly married off at fifteen - not out of love, but a centuries-old debt of honour. Now, she lives in Siya Mahel, a haunting haveli, filled with whispers, strange rituals, and one devastatingly silent man who keeps rubbing her feet every night as she falls asleep. She doesn't know what binds them. She doesn't understand why he flinches every time she asks him questions. Or why his gaze is both a prayer and a punishment. All she knows is that her life isn't hers anymore... And the one man who seems to care, is the one she fears the most. ~ One haveli. Two families tied by silence. Seven sacred stages of love. And a birth from shadows. Love is a blessing. But what if it's also a sentence you can't escape. This isn't a story. It's a rebellion sealed in sindoor and blood. ~~

Seeing her moving back, he holds her ankle and pulls her towards him making her scream, he hovers above her with a sinister look on her face. The thunder roared at him in anger, telling him to stop but he paid no heed. It slowly stopped roaring, defeated. Small water drops fall on the ground which soon turns into a heavy rain, as if crying with the girl telling her they are with her, trying to give her some solace. The birds flew from there hearing loud wails filled with pain, crying at the poor souls fate. That night the angels returned to Allah with their heads bowed down in anger and hurt, crying for an innocent girl and cursing a particular man. Urdu dialogues are translated in the chapters. rest of the description, inside!

The love and freedom they both deprived of. A love story that never got written the way it could've. Miran Hamidi was twelve when his father sent him away. He was too angry to settle down and too stubborn to live under the same roof. . Aayat grew up in the same house, but they never really knew each other. He was the absent cousin who never looked her way. Their paths only crossed during Eid greetings and polite nods. They didn't have a connection. There was no warmth or hatred, just a distant respect rooted in tradition. Five years after his return, the silence changed. It started small-a cold glance, a sharp word, misunderstood gestures. What had been indifference slowly turned into tension and discomfort. ____________________ Aayat - "Miran bhai... main-main ne sirf ek class bunk ki thi." Miran : "Tumne sirf ek class bunk ki thi... aur izzat ka kafan bhi utar diya saath mein?" _____________________ Miran: "Scene mukammal hai. Ab agar koi taali baja de toh drama bhi khatam ho. Aayat : "Sir dard ho raha tha. Woh bas-" Miran:"Sir ya jism ka? Saaf bata do, aaj toh tum dono tayyar dikh rahe ho." ______________________ But love doesn't come from names on a nikahnama. And hatred doesn't need to be loud to exist. A story of missed timings, a woman who craved dignity and patriarchal man who only controls. This isn't a love story. It's the slow unraveling of two strangers forced into closeness, under the same roof, under the same name.

If discipline was his weapon, chaos was hers. And love? That was the battlefield. For Devendran, or Deva as the world feared him, life had one rule: no distractions. He was fire forged in steel, the cop every criminal dreaded-the man who never smiled, never failed, never cared. His world was discipline, gym weights, gunmetal, and unsolved mysteries. Love was weakness. But what happens when a girl with a voice like sunshine and eyes that didn't match, storms into his life like a hurricane of laughter and chaos...? Varshini was sweet. Too sweet for his world. Too pure for his darkness. And too perfect to be his. But after a twisted encounter filled with misunderstanding, accusations, and a kiss that wasn't supposed to happen-everything changed. What began as rage turned into curiosity. What began as suspicion turned into need. And what began as enemies... turned into everything. But fate isn't done with them yet. Because when they dig into the past, a cruel truth unravels: They are cousins. From families torn apart by blood, betrayal, and a feud no one speaks of. Will love survive when it was never meant to be?
