Aubree Rose Jacobson, better known as Bree, has never known her parents. She lives with her uncle in Franklin, Maine, and she's lived a life of routine and comfort.

Then, on her way to visit her aunt, a four hour drive through virgin forest, Bree winds up on the side of the road, deep in Maine's wilderness, with no phone, food, or shelter. At first, getting back to civilization is Bree's only concern. But with the gathering dark the forest gets stranger, and Bree starts to wonder if there's something she's missing.

Then, a young man rescues her. His behavior is odd and vague, suspicious even. He seems more likely to hurt her then to help her, but with a badly injured ankle and no way out of the forest, Bree has no choice than to trust him.

With her life, apparently.

As their situation gets darker and more twisted, Bree and her rescuer only have one choice; trust each other, never give up, and of course the most important rule of all.

Never go outside after dark.

"Now that I know what makes you tick.." He said walking over to me. "I know how to make you listen to me." He brushed my hair behind my ears. Damn it. This is what I was afraid of. Showing too much emotion has caused him to see my weakness. "Don't touch me" I slapped his hand away. "You're gonna need to learn how to control that attitude of yours princess." Cole smiled turning around and going into the bathroom. ----------- With the tragic passing of her mother, Emily was sent away into the foster care system. She lives every day wanting an escape. She wants to make memories that can shadow over the old ones. All she hopes for is a good life, filled with good memories, good company, and something to be remembered by.
