**Complete** Madelyn Foster is just your not so average 18 year old. She holds a lot of guilt, grief, and heartbreak, caused from a traumatic childhood. Her and her brother got out of it physically, but never emotionally. She decides to move across the country, to get away from the memories that her hometown holds. Moving across the country, means leaving her brother and the woman that pieced her and her brother back together, behind. Her and her service dog move into an apartment with a roommate. Her apartment just happens to be next to the town's player. They also not so coincidently go to the same college. They are forced to be partners in Spanish, for the entire year. If you had the chance to go back in time and change the past of all your mistakes, would you do it? How far would you be willing to go to change yourself and not risk losing your family in the midst? Ever since the young female known as Rebecca had lost nearly everyone she ever cared about in the reality plain, mostly due to her personality and just not being good enough, she had started to focus on herself more and working towards finding out who she truly was. What she discovered was rather surprising, but in hindsight, it was not the case. She wanted to change herself, become someone better and leave behind the scarred, weakened body that she had now. However, the leader of the manor began to fear many things from risking the respect of her family to losing the one man that's always been by her side since the beginning, causing her to worry and overthink things to the point where her imagination goes a bit too far down a dark path that a certain creature of the past soon encourages her to follow. I just wanted to say something real quick before you proceed with reading this short story of mine and that is that this one is rather personal, more than my other stories in a sense where it pertains to my current struggle in my outside life of identifying as a male rather than a female these days. In the beginning she thinks it's a total curse, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise... They both may pretend on the outside that they are fine, but truth be told, they are both broken. The way his smile doesn't match his sad eyes draws her towards him, and the scars and bruises on her skin draw him towards her. A cure for your sadness could be another person, right? Well put her broken pieces together with his, and you have cracked the code.
