Descending the stairs, Carolus tried to calm his racing mind. Would she be angry? Would she do anything to him? No, that was foolish. She would never hurt him.

Peace is wearing thin. Prussia and the Austrian Empire are fighting for dominance over the German states. War is seeming a likely possibility. 
When the scales begin to tip in Austria's favour, Europe finds itself on the brink of a larger conflict. Prussia's position of power is in danger. Russia is unsure of Austria's growing influence. France is eager for a taste of its former glory. Poland is itching for freedom. 

Tensions are rising.
