In the world of Indri, existence is shaped by two primordial forces: Light and Darkness. Neither was ever meant to rule alone. Light brings order and stability; Darkness preserves balance, memory, and what must remain unseen. Together, they once held the world in equilibrium, until fear and arrogance shattered that harmony.
In an age before recorded history, the Elder Races governed Indri. When Light began to harden into absolute control, threatening to erase mystery and choice, Darkness acted to preserve balance. For this act, the last of the Nattbandre, guardians of equilibrium. was placed on trial in the Hall of Eternity. The truth of the catastrophe that followed was never fully examined. Instead, Darkness was condemned, its champion sealed beyond time, his name erased from reality, and history rewritten to cast Light as salvation and Darkness as evil.
Centuries later, the cost of that lie begins to surface. Sorcery is outlawed in the kingdom of Evig Lys, where Light rules through law and fear. Ancient knowledge has been buried, and memory itself fractured. An ageless figure known only as the Old One senses the world slipping once more toward imbalance. Drawn north by disturbances no one else can feel, he gathers a small company, warriors, scholars, seers, and outcasts, each pulled by forces they do not yet understand.
Their journey leads them toward Mørke Mountain, a storm-wrapped peak hiding an abandoned fortress built to suppress ancient power and forgotten truths. Along the way, they encounter creatures born of imbalance and fragments of a past deliberately erased. As seals weaken and buried memories resurface, the companions must confront a terrifying realization: the greatest threat to Indri is not the return of Darkness, but the unchecked dominance of Light. To restore balance, they may have to reclaim the very truth the world was taught to fear.
