Who knew that a simple run-in on the streets would lead to so much more? Kayleigh Denton, a reporter for the World, and her friend; photographer Jennifer Bautista, certainly didn't. And they certainly didn't think they would ever see the four people that they ran into- Jack Kelly, David Jacobs, Les Jacobs, and Anna Summers- ever again. That is, until Kayleigh becomes so desperate that she thinks it would be a ' fine ' idea to write a story under her boss' nose- the Newsboys Strike of 1899. With Jennifer as her photographer, and her best friend, she thinks she can pull off the lie.

Will she be able to? Also, will she be able to write the article, without falling for one of the newsies in the process? Can Jennifer withstand the flirtatious King of Brooklyn and hold her ground? What new romances will form? These questions and more will be answered.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is The Brave Battalion.
