"I've given you enough time Kat" giving an icky smirk he took a seat. "How long did you plan on carrying on this charade" All she could see was the floor as she did her best to avoid eye contact with the man sitting beside her to prevent her from having to give an explanation. The new life she thought she had started was nothing but a distant memory. She had a feeling the man next to her was responsible for why she was lying pathetically in that very dim and horribly painted hospital room. "Unfortunately that dunce shot you as well. But you'll be fine, right Kat??" his sadistic smile widened. She bit her lower lip as her thoughts immediately ran back to the fact that Bill and Houston weren't with her. Guilt rose up, she would blame herself if anything happened to either one of them. "Where are they?" She said with a tear running down her face "That should be my business Katrina. Come back. I've got a better space for you, you've always been the best we have Kat don't throw this chance away" 'Fuck you and the whole team" she spat

You and Me: Caught Up in a Dream - Fate or Coincidence? Katrina stood in the hotel lounge, surrounded by her female colleagues, pretending to follow their light chatter. But her mind was elsewhere, spiraling into the whirlwind of changes her life had taken in the past few weeks. The man who had spent the last year making her life miserable-criticizing her work, undermining her confidence-had kissed her. Last week. A kiss that burned through her resolve like fire through dry leaves. Across the lounge, he leaned casually against the bar, his tall, commanding frame impossible to ignore. His eyes found her, as they had all day during the company's team-building retreat, trailing her like a shadow. He was arrogant, maddening, and yet irresistibly charming. And now, as they all prepared to celebrate the year's end at the Clarion Hotel before the Christmas break, Katrina couldn't shake the pull she felt toward him. The wine she'd sipped earlier buzzed in her veins, lending her a false courage she wasn't sure she could sustain. Should she approach him? Say what she couldn't stop thinking? Spend the night with me. The thought made her pulse race-and her conscience scream. She was a married woman in her thirties, a mother. But she was far from satisfied in her marriage, a truth she hadn't admitted until last week's kiss tore down the walls she'd built around her heart. For three long years, she had felt invisible in her own home, her husband's touch stopped once their son was born. The sound of laughter jolted her back to the present. Her colleagues were discussing plans for a spa retreat tomorrow morning, but Katrina barely heard them. Her nerves tingled as she felt a familiar heat-his gaze was on her again. Her breath hitched. The drinks arrived, and the men rejoined the group, but all Katrina could feel was his presence, so near and yet so charged with tension it made her dizzy. Was she brave enough to cross this line? Or foolish enough to let herself fall?
