Okay, what the hell?! Where is she? My heart was pounding, and I scanned the room in a panic. I have plenty of enemies, and I've never cared about the danger-until now. But now I have a wife, and that's a whole different story. I can't let anyone hurt her. She's my responsibility now.

I excused myself and stepped to the side... and there she was. At the buffet corner. Stuffing her face with a corn dog like we weren't at the most important event of the business world, publicly announcing her as my wife to the whole world! And I wasn't on the verge of a heart attack for her!
She didn't even notice me.
Slapping my palm to my forehead, I marched over, grabbed her ear from behind, and gave it a tug. She let out a string of curses, whining in pain.
