Martin Septim has just smashed the Amulet of Kings and turned to stone in front of his savior and love, Mikaela. She is destroyed by the death of her love, and has to help Chancellor Ocato put the Empire back together. However, being the fifteen year old love of the late sixteen year old Emperor makes people have doubts. Regardless of how advanced you are in politics and magick. (All characters and aspects pertaining to The Elder Scrolls belongs to Bethesda, save for my character Mikaela. Credit for the cover art goes to dancing fox on DeviantArt)

Deirdre Morningsong returns to Skyrim seeking vengeance on the Nords who murdered her parents, only to be captured by Imperial soldiers who mistake her for a Stormcloak rebel. After escaping both the Imperial dungeons and the destructive return of the dragon Alduin, she resolves to discover what strange power is within her, and what the dragons have to do with it. Follows the main quest lines of the game, weaving them into a story of adventure and romance, with numerous twists on the canon. I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't. Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault. The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.) Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls series of games, copyright by Bethesda Softworks. The image for the book cover is from the game. I've only posted Part I here, but will soon post the rest (four parts total, 62 chapters). I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand. I'm hoping that writing this fanfic will be a bridge to doing more of my own fiction.
