Set during the chaotic aftermath of the Russian Revolution and the early days of the Cold War, Assassin's Creed: Vanguard follows the story of Bella Edward Johnson, a 21-year-old former slave, and her childhood friend Ellie Blackman. After surviving years of brutal servitude, Bella and Ellie have been secretly trained by members of the Brotherhood, Raphael D'Angelo and Trissia de Vries, two seasoned Assassins determined to guide them in their quest for freedom.

As the Templar Order tightens its grip on Russia, using the chaos of the Cold War to advance their own agendas, Bella and Ellie find themselves thrust into a world of espionage, betrayal, and resistance. They must navigate the dangerous political landscape, where Nazi forces and Soviet operatives clash for control, and ancient conspiracies threaten to plunge the world into further conflict.

Ellie, hardened by her past, and Bella, haunted by the murder of her parents, must use the skills they've learned to fight back against the oppressive regimes that seek to control their homeland. Alongside their mentors, Raphael and Trissia, the two young women work in the shadows, engaging in covert missions, sabotage, and assassinations to destabilize the Templars' influence and protect innocent lives.

As they venture deeper into the heart of conflict, Bella and Ellie uncover a dangerous plot that could alter the balance of power in the world. With the Hidden Ones-the ancient Assassins Brotherhood-unaware of their secret training, they must prove their worth and navigate the perilous initiation process while keeping their training a secret.
