This is a story about losing yourself and cutting yourself short. It's about falling in and out of love. It's about finding your way and turning away. It's about growing up and moving on. It's about life.

Darlene tends to think of herself as an old soul. A simple girl from a little bit of everywhere she seeks out an ordinary, happy life in her empty town in Michigan after a few rough years. More than anything she wants to survive this last year of high school and carry herself far away from her life. But life is never simple for long. So will she unravel or has she already figured herself out?

Keith is the textbook definition of an all american boy. From his professional football aspirations to his high school sweetheart his life seems to have taken the most average course possible. So why is it that so much of his life goes on beyond closed doors?

Darlene and Keith are an unlikely pair, they come from different walks of life and their future paths will only carry them farther apart. Yet here they are stuck together for a time. So will this time change something within them or is it destiny reassuring them that they are on the paths they were always meant for?
