"The Shadow of the Past" is an adventure-thriller set in West Africa, centered on Samira, a determined archaeologist who discovers a powerful, centuries-old artifact shaped like a scorpion. As she unearths it in an ancient temple, she realizes the artifact is not only a relic but a dangerous object, holding immense power and a dark history. A group of mercenaries, intent on claiming the artifact, relentlessly pursues her.

Meanwhile, Tomáš, a journalist from Prague, investigates a politician's murder linked to a secret sect searching for the same artifact. His and Samira's paths eventually cross as they team up to protect the artifact and confront the dangers surrounding it. Together, they face treacherous landscapes, ancient traps, and ruthless enemies, racing against time to prevent the artifact's power from falling into the wrong hands.
