The Ghoster's Haunt" is a witty and darkly humorous poem that explores the common modern experience of ghosting in relationships. The poem follows the perspective of someone who has been abruptly cut off in communication, reflecting on the mysterious disappearance of the other person. Through playful yet eerie imagery, it pokes fun at the absurdity of ghosting, likening the ghoster to a phantom that fades into oblivion.

With themes of modern dating and digital disconnection, the poem uses sarcasm to express frustration while also making light of the situation. It touches on the emotional confusion left behind when conversations are left unfinished, blending feelings of annoyance with dark comedy. "The Ghoster's Haunt" captures the ghosting phenomenon in today's world, turning the frustration of being ignored into a hauntingly amusing experience.

Matthew, a nobody fighting for scraps, barely making it by. Fighting with old ties and practically failing in life was desperate for work-any job would do-and he landed a position as the CEO's assistant. The catch? The company was nearly completely run by demi-humans. That didn't bother him; the pay was excellent, after all. But why had so many assistants before him quit? On paper, the job seemed straightforward. But there is definitely something up. To his surprise, the CEO turned out to be someone he recognized-a Doberman girl from his high school days. Back then, she was a shy, nerdy overachieving, top student in class, and a bit of a teacher's pet. Now, she's the powerful, no-nonsense head of a renowned tech company. Back then he always harbored a crush on her, but both demi-humans and humans alike had mocked him for liking someone outside his species. Fear of rejection kept him silent. But now that timid girl he once knew has transformed into a cold, aloof, and brutally blunt but... beautiful woman. In a world where prejudice between humans and demi-humans runs deep, Matthew has always stood out. He neither noticed nor understood the hate, treating everyone with the same kindness. This attitude baffles demi-humans, who aren't used to such treatment from a human, and it alienates him from his own kind, who can't comprehend his easy acceptance. Follow Matthew as he navigates poverty, old ties, social prejudice, and the cold side of a CEO who might just be the woman he's been waiting for. He might have a chance of a good life

"How affected are we?" A compilation of poems I've been holding onto for a while, written by yours truly. Inspired by personal experiences & trauma, as well as emotions and/or trauma others have been through or tend to keep to themselves as a way to show them there are people who've been through similar situations or are willing to listen & understand. Be advised, some topics depicted in said poems may be too dark and/or raw emotionally for some readers.
