Phoebe Mason has a problem. When Phoebe's older siblings come to visit her for the holidays, that's all Phoebe thinks it is: just for the holidays. That is, until one of Phoebe's sisters decides to take on the role of "temporary" head of the household while their mother scrambles to figure things out. Gabriella Santos also has a problem. Gabby, who's been openly gay since eighth grade, has just come to the realization that because of her shyness toward the girls she likes and her focus on the things she loves-like cheer, her friends, and school-nobody truly believes she's gay. So, when Gabby, who's sick of being pursued by a guy in her friend group, finds an old pact between her and her ex-best friend, she reintroduces the idea to an initially hesitant Phoebe. At first, Phoebe says no. However, when she figures out her sister's plan, Phoebe is determined to show her sister and the rest of her family that she's old enough to take care of herself.
When their pact is first put into action, the two have fun getting to know each other again. However, when old feelings begin to resurface, neither of the girls quite know what to do with their bubbling emotions.
