Alice is a 10th grader who feels lost and detached, despite being surrounded by many friends. She spends most of her time alone, finding solace in solitude while feeling invisible in social settings. Her reflections reveal a deep sense of loneliness masked by a strong exterior, as she navigates a world where friends seem disingenuous, and emotional walls protect her from further pain.

Her experiences with her family add layers to her sense of inadequacy. As a middle child, she feels overshadowed by the success of her siblings, with parents whose high expectations only deepen her insecurities. Despite outward strength, Alice carries the weight of her struggles, feeling trapped in a cycle of low self-worth, body image issues, and the pressure to conform. At the same time, her empathy shines through, as she avoids making others feel the same pain she endures.

Throughout her journey, Alice's emotional walls become her defense mechanism, allowing her to cope with betrayal and disappointment. Yet, in her quiet moments, she questions her own strength, wondering if her barriers will ever break or if she's destined to remain disconnected from those around her.

Her thoughts on her body, social dynamics, and the pressures of school life reflect a desire to be seen, loved, and valued for who she is, even as she grapples with the harsh realities of adolescence.
