It attracts holidaymakers of all ages, offering spectacular views of Sanjauli and the surrounding area. The temple is a perfect place to enjoy awe-inspiring sunrises and sunsets.

Historical and Mythological Significance

Jakhu Temple is steeped in history and mythology.

According to the Ramayana, Lord Hanuman stopped at Jakhu Hill in search of the Sanjeevani herb to revive Lakshmana.
During his visit, Hanuman met sage Yaaku, and as he rested on the hilltop, the mount couldn't bear his weight and flattened.
Impressed by the sage's devotion, Hanuman promised to meet him on his return journey but couldn't due to time constraints.
To honor Hanuman's visit, sage Yaaku built the temple, and it is believed that the footprints of Hanuman and monkeys around the shrine are from that time.
