Understanding EMV Technology
EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard, and Visa, the three companies that originally established the standard. EMV technology is designed to enhance the security of card transactions by using chip-enabled cards that store data securely. Unlike traditional magnetic stripe cards, EMV cards generate a unique transaction code for each purchase, making it extremely difficult for fraudsters to replicate.
