Long ago, in the region of Kanto, before humans existed, the pokemon Arcanine and Ninetales were once best friends, every Arcanine and Ninetales having each other's back. Every time. But then when a traitor ensued chaos in the two clans of Nines, it begins a raging war between the two Fire-types. One that would never end. Hundreds of years later, they are still enemies, though once best friends. Almost like siblings to each other. Through death and tears, these two pokemon clans are still fighting, their flames scorching the land and sending other pokemon scurrying for cover. But when a Growlithe unexpectedly meets a Vulpix, a friendship begins. And it blossoms. Into something more than friendship. When their parents find out, they are punished and sentenced to death. Can this pair truly find out what happened in the ancient past? Right past wrongs? Or will they lose themselves and their identities in the heat of battle? Against each other?

Frequently Asked Questions: Q - What's special about this fanfiction? A - The books have an architectured story, from mysteries to time travel. From being awfully childish to brutally mature. Also, the protagonist ages. Q - Who are the Main Protagonists and the rivals? A - Red, a character from the Pokemon Video Games is the main protagonist along with his best friend Leaf. Whereas the character Blue (also known as Gary in the anime) is more of a frenemy than a rival. The main rivals would be Team Rocket Grunts - Cassidy and Butch as well as their Boss, Giovanni. Q - Is this story based on Pokemon Red or FireRed? A - The story has a few iconic moments from the games/manga but those events do not play a big part in the main story arc. Q - Is Ash Ketchum in it? A - The story takes place in its own universe. I try to bring some events from the games, the manga, and the anime. You get to see a different version of Ash Ketchum (close to how he has been depicted in the anime) in 2 chapters of this book. Q - Is Team Rocket the same as in the anime? A - While Cassidy and Butch are characters from the anime, they have a different overall character arc than in the anime. Team Rocket is darker than in any previous versions and has a purpose and a plan other than stealing. Giovanni's plan plays out slowly in the course of three books. Q - It has time travel? A - It does, time travel is hinted at in the first book with the actual "time traveling" in the second book. Q - "I hope the protagonist has a father, hahaha" A - Yes, he does. The character mostly appears in flashbacks but is an important character.Complete

But she doubts she will. Until... A Time Gear gets stolen. Then another. Then another. It is after the fourth Time Gear is stolen that the Team goes out to find The Thief. But when Rose comes face-to-face with him, suddenly she realizes something startling, that every time she sees The Thief, something goes off in her mind. Like, her memory. Then, suddenly, something terrible happens, and a Pokemon that was once a friend ends up being the real villain. Within a mystical world called Alora, Vanito, a robotic Eevee lives peacefully in the Luminian cities. It's his 18th birthday, and his older Glaceon friend, Nequam is really eager about his future life and his future manhood. Though something goes wrong during all this, as the wise Alolan Ninetails, Tentatio, isn't here to celebrate with Vanito. As questions brew in his mind of where his wise friend could be, he accidentally comes in contact with an ancient plague that has loomed in a restricted area for many thousands of years. His world crumbling-or rather, his perception of the world crumbling, Vanito has to find a solution to the virus corrupting his code. This is a mini story that takes place within Alora in "Shattered Shadows." All the events that take place in this book ARE canon to that story. Don't worry, you don't have to read Shattered Shadows first, as the experience should not be hindered with in any way! Go ahead and begin with either if you're planning to read both! For clarification, yes, despite the Pokémon being Protogens, they still walk the same way the non-Protogen version does. So if the Pokemon is quadrupedal, then that character will be quadrupedal. The main purpose of this story is to expand upon the world of Alora, since I'm kinda struggling to incorporate it into the main story... sowwy... This story that I've made is a huge collaboration of a man in VERY ancient times in a world of Pokémon, serving under a leader. Along with serving with his leader, he is accompanied by his four friends, that he has grown to bring on a brotherly/sisterly bond (Or is it?) In this story, humans are rare to find, but are very powerful, especially when chosen to become a general. Pokémon are able to live up to a thousand years, despite what the eyes may show. But when he starts to forget his past, and his parents in an event that changed this mans life, what will become of his future? Come and read this story as one human and four Pokémon make a journey to fulfill a quest, given by their leader, Yveltal, as they fight off the mysterious forces of an unknown enemy they call "The Truetts." They're always a step down from what you think they'd be, always a notch lower than expectations, and always a lie to hide from the reality around us. ...of course, there are those that can see through those masks too, and it's supposed that Arceus created these humans to keep the world's sanity. That's all Avis wishes for, because it's nearly impossible to find any semblance of peace in this midst of war and chaos. To him, that's staying alone; staying out of others' business, and for the first seventeen years of his life, he's done that pretty well. § Avis can only hide in the shadow of his twin brother's strength, stranded in a country ravaged by war and destruction--and he tries to live his life in the darkness peacefully. He doesn't need to be noticed by everyone. The illusion of a functional, ideal life, however, is shattered when his family's balance is destroyed, and he thus dons his first mask. § For all his life, Avis had been taught that disaster was bad. Echo Cereus, an Umbreon with a case of selective mutism, is shipped off to the Kalos Kingdom with his estranged brother, Tanuki Cereus, a Flareon with a chronic case of clumsiness. Objective? Study the artifact known as the Evolutionite under the tutelage of the kingdom's rulers. For the socially adverse Echo, the situation looked bleak. Things only go from bleak to dire as he is sent to a small town and has to interact with Pokémon he isn't too fond of. However, things are never what they seem. There is more to Kalos than what meets the eye. Beneath the pristine surface of the region and the kingdom lie various concerns bubbling to the surface. Discrimination, harmful stereotypes, and dangerous Pokémon become quite noticeable over time. In an unfamiliar place, the estranged brothers can only rely on each other and face the turmoil that's been eating at their relationship since their childhood. *I don't own the Pokémon franchise, nor am I the owner of the art used for this cover.
