"Why me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She backed up until the cold wall pressed against her, but he didn't stop, closing in until there was almost no space between them.
He leaned down, his face inches from hers, breath warm against her cheek as he spoke, his voice low and almost too close. "Sorry, darling," he murmured, his tone soft and unsettling. "You just happened to be in the wrong place... at the wrong time."
