Forty percent of tributes each year come from community homes, a place where every single child is required to take out the maximum amount of Tessera as a form of payment for the roof over there heads. Where every single child is required to put there name into that bowl that leads to almost certain death as many times as legally possible. The place Alba calls home or at least the closest thing she's ever had to one.

On the day of Albas reaping everything changes. Her name is plucked from the bowl like so many unfortunate children before her and she is forced to participate in the games that are punishment for actions committed long before she was even alive.
