When museum curator, Lena Goodwin, receives an anonymous package containing damning evidence of a mistake she thought she buried years ago, her carefully built life begins to unravel.

Hugh, a rogue relic hunter with his own dark agenda, and who is now the only man that knows her secret, uses it to make an offer she can't refuse:

Help him retrieve the Astralis Codex, an ancient artifact that exacts a deadly toll for every favor it grants, or have her whole life's work pommeled six feet under.

But, Lena gets more than she bargained for as she gets entangled in the dangerous world of black market auctions and forbidden occult. Not only are her and Hugh forced to confront their enemies, but also their growing attraction to each other. They soon learn that trust is fragile the deeper and darker they go, and both are wary that their partnership may be nothing more than a means to an end.

With the Codex, the lines between right and wrong blur beyond recognition. Lena and Hugh must decide if love is worth the ultimate sacrifice, or if the cost of doing so is a price too high to pay.

Because some pacts are written in blood, and some debts can be forgiven, but this choice is tied to their souls.
