"The Dandy's Duchess" tells the story of the youngest and most talented general of the National Security Bureau, who sacrifices his life for his country and finds his soul transported to another world, where he is reborn as Yun Qianyue, the only legitimate daughter of the Prince Yun's Mansion in the Tian Sheng Dynasty. In this world, Yun Qianyue is seen as a spoiled and arrogant young lady, but she actually conceals wisdom and talent. 
In the novel, she forms a pair of adversarial companions with Rong Jing, known as the cunning heir-who is also the heir of the Rong Wang Mansion. After going through a series of conflicts and misunderstandings, they eventually develop a deep emotional bond.
