Pacifica has grown to loathe her family more and more with each passing day. While of course she won't ever say no to a new dress or the latest BMW for her birthday, she's getting older. And her parents certainly have plans for their precious heir-that is, soon she's to be properly socialized amongst the finest young men across the globe. By the time she's eighteen, she's to be married. She's to carry on the prestigious Northwest name. Her destiny is coming for her.
Meanwhile, Dipper and Mabel have just finished their junior year of high school. It's been four years since Weirdmageddon. Mabel is on track to acceptance at one of the world's most prestigious art universities, and Dipper has begun writing scientific journals of his own. But not long after they return to their beloved Mystery Shack for the summer, Pacifica comes knocking on their door (or, window) for help.
