He was also a flaming homosexual that was struggling to come out to his very homophobic family, - dad not included because he was pretty much a closeted gay as well whom was in an unhappy marriage and wasn't home much. Frank was really considering just ending it all, he already was a fuck up, his life sucked, he got bullied at school, was probably already going to die at the age of 30 because of all the smoking he does, so what was the point?

And when poor, pitiful Frank meets Gerard Way, it makes his life worse. Gerard is a total homophobic dick, and he's the brother of Frank's friend, Mikey. 

Gerard hates Frank to the core.

So what will happen when Mikey invites Frank over for dinner right after school?
