Mature
Someone once told me animals naturally form packs. Whether you are an insect, a bird, a predator, or a prey. Social cliques among animals are what holds the ecosystem and numbers stable. Take wolves for example; those that fail to become alphas, harbor the burden of failure. Carnivores naturally form social hierarchies within their packs. Herbivores however, sacrifice their comrades to evade their predators and live on.

In this world forming packs yields benefits for the individual, a solitary wolf cannot survive alone. A wolf strives to survive. It strives for power to feed its hunger because without power they cannot have the strength to form packs. Thus they must fight against one another to earn their way to the top of their food chain. Wolves strive to live because a lone wolf- is a dead wolf.

This isn't your average werewolf story. It's far from it. (Note: May contain foul language, violent behavior, cliff hangers, too much hormones, hangry characters, and not enough sleep...just saying)

1 part Complete Mature

He's the Alpha... but she's in charge. Rhys and Calla are the eldest children of rival city leaders. They have no reason to interact, until fate forces them together. When a member of Rhys's camp is filmed attacking an innocent person on land claimed by Calla's family, Calla is brought in to manage the PR disaster. Used to being the top dog, Rhys resents taking orders from an enemy, attractive though she may be. Rhys isn't just an obnoxious, billionaire playboy to Calla; he's one of her prime suspects. Not only is she convinced he's guilty of the attack, she also believes he kidnapped her best friend. They may hate each other, but as they're forced to work together and trust each other, their chemistry becomes undeniable. With heinous crimes continuing-all pointing towards Rhys and his family, it's not long until tensions in the city yield to violence. The only way they'll make it through safely is with each other's help. But if their families find out about their forbidden relationship, their jobs and social standing-and even Calla's life-will be at stake. Rhys must make the choice to defy his family... or risk Calla becoming their next victim. Season 1 of Apex WARNING: This story contains mature themes including violence and strong language that may not be suitable for some readers.
