"Hamara apradh ye hai ki hamne Vanya pe vishwas nahi kiya," she said while her eyes were busy in shedding tears. The air around seemed to stop flowing as a pin drop silence wrapped up the king's court. Her hair was disheveled, and her face was drenched with tears.

She lifted up her palms and stared at the blood that was stained on them. She laughed like a psycho with her sore throat, "aur iska dand hamne swayam ko de diya hai, apne hi pati ke praan cheen kar."

She uttered her final words before moving towards the burning fire, which mirrored the burning sensation in her heart. She was ready to accept what she had done. She was ready to burn herself alive. She was ready for everything, excepting for having regret for killing her own husband.

"Mai ye sabh kuch bhul jaungi Ekansh, sabh kuch. I am willing to forgive you at the S of a Sorry..." she begged, not wanting to lose him. He hung his head low, not knowing what to reply, a million memories flashing before his eyes. All the words he uttered that day stung back at him like a swarm of wasps. "Kya aap iss Akshita, jo aap ke liye SULI PAR CHAD JAYEGI, Iss Akshita ke sath jindagi bitane ka mauka gavadenge?" She asked, broken, her voice quivering. He looks at her, his eyes softening as he looks at her, her eyes full of hope. He takes a deep breath, breaking the eye contact. She looks down, missing the guilt filled in his eyes while her eyes are now void of emotions. She nods chuckling bitterly, "Thik hai, thik hai... Toh ye sun lena... Iss Akshita..." she said, pointing to herself, "Iss Akshita, ko mil ne ka aap ka akhri mauka, apne afsoos se gavadiy-" "Nahi..." he says barely above a whisper, but her ears catch it. "Nahi..." he says shaking his bent head, "Nahi Gavaunga, I was a fool to not know your sufferings... It was wrong of me to accuse you- Forgive me if you can..." he said tears flowing down eyes, falling on his knees. She looks at him letting out a heavy sigh, her emotions threatening to spill. She closed her eyes. His heart ached hearing the her silence as the dam of guilt overflowed from his eyes in the form of tears for he had lost her. ---------- Tired of reading stories where the Male Lead is always: "He is the standard" "Green Flag ❌ Green Forest ✔️" "Hara Jhanda" ? Agreeing to marry for all the wrong reasons, can Cressida and Calan find out where their hearts truly belong? *** It is impossible to leave the Town, but one woman is determined to escape with the help of her betrothed. Lady Cressida Belverst has always been judged as a walking scandal. Oh, how she tries (on some rare occasions) to be proper! When her parents arrange for her to marry a rich lord, Cressida has had enough. She has to leave the Town because she will not be forced to live with a man she doesn't love. But what happens if the very man she's betrothed to is the only one who can help her get out? Calan Haverston, the Lord of Easton, takes the risk and helps his betrothed by using his knowledge of the Town's secrets because he is as willing as she to stay free of marriage for reasons completely different. He has dark secrets he cannot share with her, and his life is not one he can likewise open to anyone. But what happens when she leaves after awakening desires he thought he has under control? And what happens when he finds himself longing for her? Cressida goes to a completely different place, one she has only heard in stories and read in books, with hopes of finding what her heart has always longed for. But love, mystery and secrets will chase her and it will only be a matter of time before she realizes what her heart truly desires. *This story is a standalone title in the Haverston Family series.
