She was never the first choice, always the second. She accepted it though she hated it. ********* I looked into the mirror wondering why I wasn't good enough. I tried my best but it was never enough. I tried to change to be able to be accepted, but that wasn't enough. I couldn't be myself because it wasn't enough. I had to act the part to be "second best", it was too hard to reach the best. Quinn is a 15 year old teenage girl who's mostly like every other kid her age.....except she's not. She has an array of learning, psychological and physical disorders, one of which includes her being at least 300 lbs heavier than all of her classmates and teachers. On top of that, her family, her peers and her best friend all abandon her after she reveals two life changing secrets, one being that she needs to loose more than half of her weight or she will die. All of me, the hard parts of flesh you could never seem to love, drips down the drain. I am waiting for the day for your fingers to unscrew the pipes, dig through debris and mess, scrape your heart against the rust, just to find me, so we can go through it all over again. Here, in the pages I find myself, in the ink that writes against my flesh, I will whisper the sadness, the heartache, and the decaying for all of the unspoken.
