Investigating the Alpha

This is a Rewrite of a story I wrote long ago.

Juniper (Juni) Nikols has been working undercover in South Dakota for two years trying to track down a jewel thief who stole the priceless Rose Diamond from the local museum. Lead after lead the investigation seems to be going into an endless loop until one day she stumbles across the deal happening in real time.

Dean Thompson is the SDPD police chief. He does most of his work under wraps and not many people especially newbies on the force have even seen him before. He rarely works in the office and has been tracking down some robberies and murders going on on the outskirts of pack territory with rogue scents all over them. He was just planning to talk things over with his crew when the most delicious smell hits his nose and he pulls them into a small diner that he hasn't been to in ages thinking it was the food. Until his wolf stirred inside him and her sight stole the breath from his lungs.
